If you are a woman, a technical career can be bad for your health, tough on your ego and devastating to a desire to raise a family, according to new research from the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and Stanford University.

Has Google Oversteped its Boundaries?

I am all for technology. Google is amazing. It has changed the way we search and access information. Any dispute over an answer to a question, Google it. Your son wants to know how and why Mosquitos suck your blood, Google it. Even my 80 year old mother in law uses Google. Now that is amazing! But is there a limit to what they should offer? Or how much information they give out, especially if it could impact the safety of your children?

When you run a lean start-up you have to be scrappy about where you get your resources, so naturally when I need technical information I turn to my own personal high tech team, my kids.  My 10 year old is an expert on all things Power Point, so when I need to make an employer or investor pitch she’s ready to help.  When I want to know about the latest widget on my Mac my middle-schooler knows them all.
