The big "R" word has come out and everyone is talking about the global recession. From holiday shopping on a budget to job finding, the media (blogs, radio, news, etc.) are all a buzz with strategies for getting through tough economic times. Today, on NPR, the focus was recession proof jobs.

Leave it to Harvard Business School to develop a top notch program geared to helping women get back into the workforce. Last year I was one of the lucky few to be accepted into their Program, which consisted of 30 talented women. The program was fantastic and was definitely worth the money.
This Fall I've had the great fortune to tour both high schools and colleges with my 8th grader and high school junior. I've visited many Bay area independent high schools and several colleges. When you run a lean start-up you have to be scrappy about where you get your resources, so naturally when I need technical information I turn to my own personal high tech team, my kids.
