Lauren Murphy is a seasoned career counselor with over 20 years of management and career coaching experience.

She began her career in business as an Assistant Buyer and Department Manager for Dillard’s, a division of Macy’s Stores in Houston, Texas.  She then spent many years with the Procter and Gamble Company where she held various marketing, sales, and general management positions.  Lauren “off ramped” to focus her energies raising her three children and volunteering in her community.

While Lauren enjoyed her business career, she also had a passion for career counseling. Through informational interviews and networking, she “on ramped” into a position at Wellesley College where she counseled alumni and students and served as Program Director of Management Basics, a course to help undergraduates learn about careers in business. 

 Lauren began coaching Harvard Business School students in 2003 and has counseled over 1,000 MBA students.  She served as Associate Director, Career Development Programs and Communications where she managed and trained a career coaching staff of 35 professionals responsible for developing all MBA career development programs at Harvard.   Lauren currently coaches Harvard Business School Executive Education participants in leadership skills, MBA students, and mid-career women seeking to re-enter the workforce.

Lauren holds a BBA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Columbia University. She is a Qualified Administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Certified to interpret the CareerLeader self-assessment instrument.
