I am a full time career mum juggling a busy work schedule with two
young kids - a 2 year old boy and a six month old girl.
I love my job as a Executive Assistant in a big company but the demand for my time is high and a lot of the times overwhelming and I have
contemplated many times to stay home with my children and start a home based business.
My passion lies in baking. I'm self taught (well, my mom was a big

i find myself sad and confused about deciding about going back to work. on one hand i need to get out for my own sanity. on the other i am filled with guilt as i have a severely cronically ill son. he is 12 and has undergone 18 open heart related surgeries, his prognosis is very poor the latest reports say 16.3 years.
unfornitatly my husbands job of 28 years is closing the doors. we need health insurance of course, and will be a family of 6 with no income.
As one of the initial women to take advantage of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) after giving birth to my first child, I want to ensure that it is as effective as possible for other women. Here are some of the "Best Practice" highlights of Dr. Sylvia Ann Hewlett's talk at YourOnRamp's launch event November 5, 2007. Sylvia did a masterful job articulating what many of us have felt for a long time. Women do add unique value (measurable on the bottom line) and are just as motivated and committed to fulfilling work as our male counterparts. The current structure of the workplace makes it very difficult to find one work-life balance or fit that works over an entire career. It is exciting to see that companies are realizing they need to and can do something about it!
I checked up my google reader this morning and found an article mentioned this place. It seems pretty cool and pretty good and easy to use. There are too many social networks nowadays and it is difficult to find a suitable one to use. But this one focuses on female life and career, it is suitable for me and I hope I can find useful informations, for I have to look for work in October. Everytime I think of it, I feel nervous and confused. There are not many opportunities for fresh graduated female students and I don't know what kind of job is my dream one.
