GROWING FAST - HOW FAST TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS

Yesterday, much to my joy, we had our highly successful open house for Cubes & Crayons, www.cubesandcrayons.com. The day before, in addition to responding to all of my employees last minute needs and emergencies, I shopped for our second campus. It is unbelievable to me how this one idea I had over 2 years ago has become a reality. Not only a reality but one that is growing.
We officially open for business on January 24th but are already being courted by the Venture Capital world. Introductions have been made and I am spinning. I have so many ideas and ambitions for the growth of this company. It truly is my third "child." Yet, I worry about losing control, growing too fast, stepping too far away from the original vision and concept. At the same time, I am focusing on working out the kinks and refine the business model at our first campus, which I keep having to remind myself doesn't open until next week.
It is an amazing place to be in. I can barely keep track of all my ideas, goals, etc. as I am bombarded by the day in day out needs of the existing business and the growth opportunities while balancing my 2 little girls. I am reliant on my to do lists, my runs, and late evenings to keep me focused and productive. That and my team of friends who I vent to and who have knowledge and foresight in advising me for the future. Keep you posted on our growth.
