YourOnRamp's Launch Event a Success!

YourOnRamp welcomed Dr. Sylvia Ann Hewlett to a sold out evening of networking and inspiration on Monday night. 200 talented and enthusiastic women joined our six sponsors, Aquent, Lehman Brothers, Fenwick & West, U.S. Trust, Cisco, Chronicle Books and HBS in the spectacular offices of Fenwick & West LLC in Mountain View.

There was tremendous shared energy, broad interest and thought-provoking questions as the evening moved from career roundtable workshops to a delicious cocktail reception and on to hear Sylvia speak. Sylvia articulated beautifully the reasons why there is a talent shortfall and what companies are doing to address it by retaining and re-engaging women. You asked a wide range of interesting questions about the issues. It was a tremendously inspiring way to officially launch YourOnRamp and we were thrilled at the turnout!

Thank you very much to all of you who joined us! Your warmth, openness to sharing experiences, and appreciation for what we are doing at YourOnRamp was infectious. As Jean reports in her blog, "networking can feel awkward, but the room was buzzing with conversation, laughter and introductions. Ideas were exchanged and there seemed to be light-bulb moments popping off like flash bulbs around the room." We are all on this path of discovery together. Your desire to share experiences and support one another was very clear and made us feel more committed than ever to providing the tools and resources you need to manage your career successfully.
