Yes We Can!

Career

I was born in Oxford, Mississippi when my father was attending graduate school at Ole Miss. My parents grew up in a segregated south and lived through the riots at Ole Miss when the first black student was admitted to college. Fast forward to November 5, 2008. No matter whom you voted for you can’t help but feel that hope and change are in the air. Tears were shed by many, and the response around the world was overwhelmingly positive. Read YourOnRamp friend and Spark’s Founder, Kathleen Kelly’s blog, The Meaning of Hope in Zimbabwe. Generation O is ready to take its place in the world and is the leading the way one text message, tweet, or Facebook post at a time.

So even with 2 wars, a financial crisis and spiraling unemployment, I’m still surrounded by job searchers filled with hope, optimism, and a Yes We Can attitude. Maybe it’s a leap, but I believe it’s this attitude that will create new change in many things including the way we work. It will take time, but I’m excited and hopeful that change will penetrate corporate culture and create a next generation of work flexibility. Stay tuned.
