Looking for creative freelancers/self-emplyed folks

Hi!
Im looking for other moms who are freelancers or self-employed creative folks -
graphic design, writing, craft-businesses, etc.- to join forces, to share resources, to mitigate isolation.

I am a freelance graphic designer working from a home office - I know there are tons of in the bay area working alone and trying to juggle the complexities of work in isolation. I've started a google group in the hopes of uniting resources - I hope you'll join - invite is below. At the very bottom is a link to join the group.

Hello there,
We are happy to announce the formation of a new collaborative effort for freelancers: the Bay Area Makers Guild!

We are freelancers because we love the benefits of working on our own and calling the shots. We know the downsides too: isolation, limited opportunities for creative growth and
the challenge of finding reliable sources and services. The Makers Guild is a community of creative people who can share resources and network by expanding our virtual work environment.

Who is the Makers Guild for? We want to welcome creative people of all fields (graphic design, animation, writing, film, video, photography, etc.) who work alone or in small offices. Of course, if your day job is at a big company but you spend your weekends
shooting documentaries, selling jewelry, or writing novels, join us.

How will the Makers Guild work? We envision meeting in person occasionally, with most resource sharing and communication occurring online. But, that's open to discussion.

To join in on the discussion, come to the first official meeting at 7 PM on Tuesday April 1st (location TBD, somewhere in the Mission.) If you plan to come please bring answers to the following questions, to help drive a productive discussion:
Do you work alone or with others?
What is your field?
What are your challenges, and what would YOU want to get out of a collaboration like this?

This is in its nascent stages and we're open to any suggestions help us make this an effective support network. And please pass this message on to the creative people you know so we can get a large, diverse group of makers together!
