In the thick of it on NewsonWomen...

The Finance Industry gave Media (last week’s industry hiring women leader) a run for its money this week with insurance companies and banks putting a number of women in important positions, like Nancy Foster, made Chief Risk Officer at CIT, Irene Esteves, made CFO at Regions Financial, Connie Weaver made SVP at The Hartford, and six women promoted at Sallie Mae. But the Media Industry continues to be a strong employer of women with Lori Conkling made EVP at Lifetime Networks, Pamela Parker made SVP at Sony Pictures Television, Lynne Constantini made EVP at Scripps Network, and Caroline Waxler chosen as Managing Editor of TheStreet.com’s new website, Mainstreet.com. TheStreet’s new venture plans to give traditional financial issues an everyday spin with a splash of celebrity. This seems to be the hiring trend as well, traditional jobs like banking and finance backed up by marketing talent and some media splash. We seem to be in the thick of things!
